Reader Re-do: Sandra's Beautiful New Loo

Hey friend!

Thought I'd mix things up and publish three posts today!

I know.
I'm a real wild woman.

Anywho...I receieved this letter from a friendly reader the other day, and I just had to show you her radical re-do!

Check it out...

Before...

AFTER!

Isn't it great?

Sandra said the white paint they used on the wainscotting and trim is called, "Ultra Pure White" by Behr (available at the Home Depot)- and the wall color is called "Rawhide", by Benjamin Moore.

I asked her about the shelf they made, and she had this to say:

"My hubby built it, and I painted it with simple, white craft paint. I let it dry, sanded the edges, and then I glazed it with a dark walnut coloured wood stain, and wiped it off."

She also gave me her handy-dandy resource list:

Flooring- Silent Step. Style: Antique Oak. Color: Butternut.
They purchased it at United Carpet (www.unitedcarpet.com,) but it can be found in most flooring stores.

Tub- Acrylic soaker tub with chrome feet. Purchased from Acri-Tec (www.acritec.com)

Floor mount tub faucet- Cheviot (www.cheviotproducts.com) Model #5100

Vanity- Euro-Rite Cabinets (www.eurorite.com)

Countertop- Formica. Color: Walnut Quarstone

Wreath- Michaels

Sign above door & wooden bird- Heritage House Interiors (www.heritagehouseinteriors.com)

There are so many great things in this room, but I am especially in LOVE that incredible ladder, and the fact that they went with an inexpensive-yet-durable flooring material that coordinates so perfectly with the wall color above.
And don't even get me started on that TUB.
Hubba hubba!

The only problem I have with Sandra's re-do is that it TOTALLY makes me want to work on our bathrooms now!

But, I'm serious about starting our master bedroom re-do this month, so I guess they'll just have to wait a little longer.

(Maybe.)

I love the changes. I want to redo my aqua bathroom. It is small as well. I am surprised how well their tub fit. I have the same floor in two bathrooms and in my kitchen. I love it.

Wow! Nicely and tastfully done. We are in the process of remodeling our half-bath. I just hope it gets beyond the torn-apart-phase and into the at-least-nearly-finished-stage. Sigh...

We're considering buying a clawfoot tub like that, so I'd love to hear if she's been happy with the brand she purchased.

oh wow! very neat! when I have a home of my own I definetly desire a tub like that! Looks so relaxing. The colors in the room are very complimentary :)

Very nice! We're in the middle of a cosmetic re-do in our bathroom that came with a clawfoot tub. The coolest part? The tub was salvaged from Ann Morrow (Lindberg's) family home in Maine! I love the look of the shelf over the tub in the photos.

What a great transformation. I am completely jealous. The only thing I love more in a bathroom than a clawfoot tub is a vintage inspired tubfill with a hand shower.

It's so funny you put up this post today because we were talking about starting our master bath re-do this morning. (ok, I was talkinga about and TJ was giving me a blank stare.) lol I was staring off into space a little later and he said, "what are you thinking about"? I smiled and said, "board and batten, new tile, backerboard, pedestal sinks and faucetts". He said, "wow that was a burst of thoughts, sorry I asked". LOL I'm ready to go...I wanted to tear out the vanity this morning, but I think i have some more convincing to do on his part. :) hee hee hee
Love ya much

What an incredible make-over. It is amazing... and beautiful. I was totally intrigued by the linoleum that looks like wood. what a great idea for an area that could get wet. I tried searching it out, but not able to find anything. Do you think it is laminate flooring?

Hi there! It's Sandra. Thank you Layla for posting about our bathroom - it sure is a treat to see it so well displayed!

To answer a couple of questions - Kelly, yes, we are 100% satisfied with the acrylic tub. And Linda H., the flooring is not laminate, but a single sheet of linoleum (vinyl). The cool part about the floor is there are literally hundreds of patterns/textures and styles to choose from.

Love the transformation! My hubby and I are just about done finishing our basement that will host our master bedroom and bathroom... I can't wait to start decorating!

Beautiful transformation! For those that couldn't find the flooring, I think it is called CushionStep (made by Armstrong), not Silent Step.
