Re-upholstered Flea Market Chair

Remember my $35 flea market chair?
It's FINALLY re-upholstered it.
WOO HOO!

I don't have a true "Before" picture of it, but let's just say it was previously suffocating under a thick skin of burnt orange velvet that had seen better days.

Here's the chair naked, and the chair NOW:

And here's its sexy back:

Max seems to like it :-)

So now the search is on for the PERFECT pillow to put on it.
I like this one from Pottery Barn (in maple):

And this one, also Pottery Barn (in bran):

But, in the meantime, my "new" chair will sit proudly (and pillow-less) by the fireplace...

  2. I like it! good Job! Now I am inspired to recover my garage sale find chair - that, by the way, I found more that a couple years ago...yes, I think it's time. I have no idea how to do it but I guess that's half the fun now isn't it?

  3. The chair looks great! I have that Pottery Barn pillow (but in a bolster), so I vote for it, and I love your stockings.

  5. Hey Layla...cool re-do! I would like a bolster or a long pillow on it rather than a square one. Love the fabric/texture on both you picked out.

For fun...you need to see a recent post of mine about a chair I redid...It's the last picture on both yours and mine that made me laugh (size issue!)

    Good to see you back!

  6. Oh! You going to have to post photos of your Christmas decor!

I vote for the first pillow, but I think you may be able to find something else that I like better. = )

  12. I am a total random subscriber to your blog...guilty!
I saw that chair and had to laugh--my parent own 2 identical chairs--still in none other than burnt orange velvet!
How much to get them reapholstered?
My parents would love a new color scheme!

  13. I got it re-covered it for $55, but the person who did it gave me the "friends and family" discount.

  15. My husband and I just made pillow covers that look exactly like the ones from Pottery Barn. The ones with the buttons. It only cost us two dollars a pillow. We achieved the same look for a whole lot less than if we would have gotten them from P.B.

  16. I'd love to know who reupholstered your chair especially since we'll be in your area come next summer! There are 2 nearby here in Florida that have my name written all over them. I've been dying to have a set for my Master Bedroom since I saw these on your blog!
