Rare & Beautiful Treasures and an Old Beach Bungalow

My friend, Erin, who writes the blog Rare & Beautiful Treasures recently sent me photos of an update she did to what she called, "an old ugly, paint-stained chair".

She had some scrap canvas drop cloth material, so she sewed a shabby chic slipcover for most of the chair:

Then she went to a craft store and bought a stencil she liked.
Fabric marker in hand, she gave the chair-back a pretty new design:

Isn't this the cutest little project you ever did see!? :-)
Way to go Erin!

Creative people must travel in packs because Erin's friend, Kristen, who writes the blog Old Beach Bungalow also inspired me this week. The wainscotting in her Kitchen is INCREDIBLE!

I encourage you all to check out Erin and Kristen's blogs...they're two of my absolute favorites!

  7. Wow, thanks Layla!! :)

If I had known my little shabby chair was going to be famous I would have ironed the slipcover :)

I'm almost done with the large slipcover I did for our sofa and will blog about it with SUPER easy directions if anyone is interested.

TGIF and thanks for making my day dear friend!

  11. I am so thrilled to see the chair and the stencil. I saw a chair in Wistera with a stencil and loved it but out of my budget. So now I can achieve it this way. Just fabulous. and love the wainscotting. love how beach shabby it looks!
