I get a lot of questions about the wood wall in our Guest Bedroom, so I thought I'd re-post this little video Kevin and I filmed last year while uncovering our "buried treasure"...
Of course the room looks different now...
...you didn't really think I could leave well enough alone, did you? :-)
Layla
So Chic!!!Fab!!!
ReplyDeleteLayla,
ReplyDeleteWhen I click on the video, it says "private video, etc". Is there a reason i can't view the video? Do I need to be logged in somewhere?
It won't let me watch...says it's a private video. Is there something I need to do? Your help is appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't watch your video. I got a message saying that it was a private video and I would have to accept your friend invitation to view it. But I love the photos. I've loved your guest bedroom since you posted the first photos after the renovation.
ReplyDeleteYou and your hubby look like such good friends! Looks like fun! Beautiful room.
ReplyDeleteI could sooo live in this room, Layla!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable are you two??! Did you know there would be planked wood walls underneath the sheetrock? Too cool! I just love your guest room....I want to be one of your guests, LOL! I'd curl up with a good book and you wouldn't see me, I promise!
ReplyDeletep.s. who did the song for your video? ;)
I saw the video. You guys are silly.
ReplyDeleteI love the guest room, especially those wonderful walls! What an awesome find. Did you know or suspect those would be in there or was it a big surprise?
I love how light and bright that room is.
Love your blog! Very inspiring. Just started my own blog as a hobby...
ReplyDeleteLove the video and the room Layla!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful, you are a true talent :)
ReplyDeleteWe found the planks inside the closet and suspected they ran all the way down the wall.
ReplyDeleteWe were a little nervous pulling back the first piece of sheetrock, but were very excited to find the wonderful planks!!

I LOVE the idea of this bedroom. I think that I want to have my guest bedroom look just like this!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Love the ticking quilt! And I love the walls too!

Hi Layla,
ReplyDeleteThank you for responding to my email... I see you found the 'real deal' behind those walls!! I would have been dancing, too!
You and your hubby are too cute for words! Thanks for sharing the you-tube clip. I look forward to seeing more of your designs.

Everything you touch is transformed so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteYou are so amazingly talented. Thank you for sharing these pictures with us - I only wish I had an ounce of your talent.
ReplyDeleteIn addition, I really enjoyed watching your video. What a sweet couple you are.
What a fun video. My favorite part is the beginning when Kevin and you are dancing--so young and in love. What a wonderful treasure waiting behind the drywall. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the finished bedroom and will line up to be a guest. I'd never want to leave which would probably not be a good thing after a while no matter how polite a guest I was:-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute video! You guys have done such a great job with that room. Was that your husband's band playing the song on the video?
ReplyDeleteThe mattress ticking quilt is one of the nicest, most stylish quilts I've seen!
ReplyDeleteLovely!!! You truly have a gift decorating-
ReplyDeleteLove the video -great song also~ Thxs for posting
Kelly
What a great hidden treasure! The room turned out beautiful! You both are too cute in the video, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteJane
Sigh....I love this room so much. I could look at it all day and keep finding more inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Where did you get that rug that is your guest bedroom?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun video and always something to look back on with fond memories! I loved especially how you were just running around with your broom - that would be my job too! I am sticking it in my inspirational folder - Love the wall!!
ReplyDeleteI just love that bedroom. I'm re-doing my kitchen and thinking about putting up a wall like that, or using wood to make a rough wainscotting - instead of bead board, just strips of wood and then painted over. I really love the look and your style. You've inspired me so much.
ReplyDeleteBoy did you remind me of myself, cleaning up during the tear out, it's so much better that way, isn't it? Adore your room, love the video.
ReplyDeleteI still think your wicker planter to catch the throw pillows is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteA decorator after my own heart:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
Thank You,
Carol

That bedroom is in one word, perfect!! Love it all, Chrissy
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the video; it brought a smile to my face as I watched the two of you work/play together. Great job and glad you took the risk!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you and your hubby "Play" together...it's clear that you are great 'friends' as well as partners!! It's that fun and light-hearted love that keeps a marriage together. Your playfulness was fun to watch! OH, and I LOVE THE ROOM, too! I loved it the first time I saw it in your older posts... great job! It's so "Coastal/Cottage Living" !!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest happy dance I ever saw =)
ReplyDeleteoh, and the room is adorable too.
My friend gave me a link to your blog. Today is my first read. I had to google a bit about your band and I'm praying for you :)

Oh my goodness! We totally had this same discovery in an old farmhouse we just bought. We plan to rip down the sheetrock and paint it white just like yours. I hope it turns out as pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove it, beautiful!
