I'd like to introduce you to one of our new sponsors- DiscHangers.com
I used these amazing, adhesive hangers on our plate collection in the Kitchen here at the Lettered Cottage, and let me just tell ya, these things are fantastic! I didn't want a hundred little brackets showing on the tops and bottoms of my plates, so when I came across these "invisible" ones, I was so excited. They're super easy to work with- just wet the back side and then activate the glue by rubbing it with your finger.
Once it's really tacky, attach the hanger (sticky side down) to the back of the plate and let it dry overnight.
24 hours later, your plates are ready to hang!
Stanley, the owner of DiscHangers.com has decided to sweeten the deal by offering my readers FREE SHIPPING! (He's such a nice guy!) All you have to do is type in this code when you are ready to check out:

Now go on and start that plate collection you've been thinking about starting-
You know you want to! :-)

ReplyDeleteWhat will they think of next? I love things that make life easier!
ReplyDeleteFinally - an easy way to hang dishes!

I love it. It makes the plates look like they're just floating on the wall.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much weight it will hold?
What happens when you want to remove the plate hanger from the plate?
ReplyDeleteI wondered how you'd hung your plates as soon as I saw that picture. How long does the free shipping deal last? All of 09? I'm in the planning phase now so I'm not decided on how many and what sizes I need just yet. Thanks for getting us a deal Layla.
ReplyDeleteAre they removable?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea! I have plates hanging on my kitchen sophet. (yay Goodwill!) I love my plates and they make me smile every time I look at them. The hangers, however.... well, I never did like the look of them but I just tried to look past them. This is brilliant - absolutely brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI've used these! (I even blogged about them) Aren't they great?! Your arrangement looks so pretty, Layla!
ReplyDeleteGenious!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome! I just discovered them when I bought some plates that had them on the back. They are holding strong, too!

What a great idea! My husband is always hesitant to hang plates on the wall but I just might get him to agree to do it with these handy little things!
ReplyDeleteI agree these hangers are wonderful and I love that you don't see the hanger, just the lovely plates. And they really do hold the plates long term. I was kind of nervous as it was just glue, but 2 years later the plates are still up there!
ReplyDeleteThose are the coolest things ever!! God bless, Robyn
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those things that you smack yourself in the forehead and think, "why didn't I think of that?!?" Great idea!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is amazing. I have always wanted to hang some plates but never liked the bracket things. So, this is perfect! Thanks for sharing and for the free shipping! : )
ReplyDeleteI bought some of these in Australia years ago and they have never failed me. I used them to hang two very heavy porcelain tiles and they work great! Thanks for the sweet deal!
ReplyDeleteHave to say that these are fabulous! I used them to hang plates when I worked as a museum curator. They are very secure and don't damage the plate! LOVE them!
ReplyDeleteI think these are a great idea. I get so tired of dealing with plate hangers. Your plates look really lovely! :-)
ReplyDeletethanks so much for this post! I've ordered some already!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to remove them - how does that work? Does it damage the plate?
ReplyDeleteAwesome find! Definitely bookmarking that site.
ReplyDeleteQuestion, though... I couldn't find an answer on their site - but how do you remove the disc when you no longer want the plate hung???
Layla, I have been using these things for 3 years in my home. I never really liked to old fashioned hangers because of the little bit of metal that snuck around to the front of the plates. I found them at Hobby Lobby in there frames department.
ReplyDeleteYes! dont you just love those disky-hangy things. I get them at Hobby Lobby -they are amazing!
ReplyDeleteSuch perfect timing! I just got three plates for the dining room and hadn't gotten any hangers yet. Now I must go place an order!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your little secret! :-) I've been dying to hang plates in my dining room but hated those little hangers. Yay! I'm going shopping this weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI love these, too! I used them to hang a set of plates in my kitchen ... you can see the post here: http://katandgray.blogspot.com/2009/02/sunday-afternoon-project.html . And to answer a couple of the questions in the comments, they come in different sizes to suit different weights, and when you want to remove them, you just soak them in warm water to loosen the glue, and they come right back off. I actually had to do that after I hung one of them and it was a little crooked (my fault). I just soaked it, removed it, cleaned the plate again, reattached it and it was ready to go!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I make fused glass plates and these look like the perfect answer to our dilemma of how to hang them without those wire thingies. I'll be ordering some for sure!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for answering my question! Love these!! Now I remember I have seen them before. So cool. I will be getting some. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I've used those plate hanger thingies, and boy are those hard to work with! this is a genius solution.
ReplyDeleteAhhh there's that mirror I wondered about, it's absolutely gorgeous! Your plates look amazing and so clean without those plate hangers popping out over the edges. What a great product. Thanks for sharin' :)
ReplyDeleteOh this is a great idea..thank you for sharing! Now if I can just stay in one direction on a plate collection, LOL. Nothing changes around here other than my mind, LOL.

just ordered a bunch of these! thanks so much for sharing laylaL:) xo grace
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool product! I think I'm in love!
ReplyDeleteI've used these things, and they do work great! So easy to use too.
ReplyDeleteDeb
Love those babies! I found the small & medium discs at Hobby Lobby.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like it would be really hard to ever use the plates? I usually never use my hanging plates but it would seem like it might de-value the plate somewhat because you'd have the sticky stuff on the back of the plate...what do you think?
ReplyDeleteI use these and love them. I get them from Hobby Lobby an hour away. So nice to know I can order them directly. Thanks for that tidbit.
ReplyDeleteDeb
That's so cool! I've never hung plates because they seem so difficult to hang. Now, I may have to try. Love the monogrammed plate.
ReplyDeleteYou have made a lot of us very happy campers by sharing this info.
ReplyDeleteLeAnn
What a fantastic product ~ makes me a little nervous though as all my plates are from the past ~ family attachments with sentimental value... maybe I could try one with a flea market plate and try it out first for a bit... Just call me nervous Nellie today!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS 4 The free shipping code - Got 3~
ReplyDeleteI love these hangers! My Nana has been using them for years and now so do I. To get them off, from memory, you just soak them in water again and they come off without leaving any residue. They really are a fabulous product!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post about the disc hangers. Now I can prove to my mom and aunt Randee that I am NOT crazy & talking out the side of my head about a plate hanger with no-show hooks.
ReplyDeleteI seriously need a plate collection!
ReplyDeleteI had never seen this product before but really like it and will have to order some. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. You are so cute and I laughed when watching one of your DIY videos - you are so funny. You should be on HGTV!
