One coat down, one to go!

We mixed up a custom color for the hallway today. Stay tuned for a video we shot about that whole deal! :-)

In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at the hallway after the ceilings and walls were primed...

We still have to add trim to the vertical seams where the walls meet up with each other. I believe that's on Kevin's agenda tomorrow.

Did I mention he's sporting a Kilz-tipped faux-hawk today? :-)

It won't be long before we can start decorating this new, little space- woo hoo! Who woulda' thought I'd ever be so excited about our hallway!?

'Til tomorrow!

Layla

  2. I am so pumped for you! This is the cutest hallway ever and you've barely begun to work your magic. You inspired me, so I rearranged several rooms of my house to keep up with your TLC magic.

  3. Layla,
How did you come to find out the hall and ceiling had the vertical boards behind all the sheetrock?
how could you be sure that it would be all around the whole wall?
AND after taking out the sheetrock, how do you prevent cold or dampness from seeping into the house from all the cracks? I hope i'm asking my question right? ahh!
I love yer blog! you and Kevin rock!((:

  4. Hey, I've used that hair color before!!! When I painted the inside of our kitchen cabinets white (a temporary face lift). Then, when I went in to get my haircut - almost a week later, my hairdresser made a comment about my hair turning white very quickly since she last saw me.

Little did I know, I still had paint in my hair. Guess, it'll hold up well in the kitchen!!!

The white boards are looking so nice and clean. Nice job.

  10. It is looking so pretty! My question was the same, what about the insulation factor you are losing from taking out the drywall?

  21. Wow, what a difference. They white really brings a lot light to that otherwise dark hallway in the before. those boards also give the hallway some character.
LOL @ your hubby's tipped hair. He is doing better than I would. I would have way more of the primer and paint in my hair than that. I don't enjoy painting.
