I love, love, love mirror images, or symmetry. It is very soothing. I am a teacher, and I always try to create in my classroom, as it is very calming to the students, to have clean lines, rather than too much visual stimulation! Great post!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos Layla, especially the first one : ) The white furniture is to die for!
ReplyDeleteHealth and happiness!

So funny, I just did a post on symmetry on my blog! It is TOTALLY soothing. Personally I love symmetrical prints... they have a calming effect.
ReplyDeleteSymmetry is such a great design solution for so many areas you're not quite sure what to do with. It almost always looks polished and thoughtful. I'm putting together some cabinets with a central desk at my parent’s beach house right now. I'm gonna blog about it shortly. So far it looks great!

I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the mantles you are featuring especially yours. Believe it or not I have 3 mantles, one of them HUGE so I always struggle with a creative arrangement for all three of them. I've been inspired!
ReplyDeletei love symmetry, but my husbands needs it! he goes a little nuts when things are off balance.
ReplyDeleteI HAVE to have symmetry...I'm just OCD like that! :) I can't stand to be in a room that doesn't soothe my soul and if it's not symmetrical, it gets to me in a big way! Yikes, I really am OCD!! LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Can't wait to see those (kitchen)cabinets too, since I'm the one that guessed the new color!! :-) bwa ha ha ha !
I love the symmetry and also love the white furniture, it is so calming.
