We're baaaaack!

We arrived home from Tybee Island around 9 o'clock last night, and the CREEPIEST thing happened as we walked in and out of the side door of our house.

And because I thought maybe it would be less creepy if you were with us during the seemingly paranormal experience, we HAD to grab the video camera so that you could witness the creepiness too.

Check it out...
(If you dare!)

  4. As a former BMW owner, I knew what was going on but couldn't figure out where the heck you guys had the key. (The windows roll down if you hold the unlock button down. Very handy for those hot summer days.)

  17. Too funny! I was spooked. I love ghost stories, and we visited the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO and had some fun there. I thought... "wow, I've never heard of a haunted car before but you never know!" Kind of glad to find out it was just the key. Thanks for the laugh! :)

Little James came in here while the video was playing and when you turned the camera to Kevin he said "hey, that's my friend from that house with the hammock!"

Looking forward to seeing what you were up to at Tybee!

  39. Such a great share! My older kidlets walked by as I started the video. My Boy got a kick out of it and My Sweet Pea was just as freaked out as you were. What a relief to have that mystery solved! But guess what! Now you and all of us have a great Halloween trick to play on people as they walk up to our front doors in a couple months. http://mannhome.blogspot.com

  46. Layla & Kevin.
They say there are two types of people or animals.
The saying I think is "take flight or fight".
    You guys are awesome.
I would have NEVER walked down the driveway and faced any of my fears.
I probably would have sprinted all the way back to Tybee never to return till my very "stay and fight" (or face your fears) type hubbie got answers. hehe
    I admire your spunk.
Glad you are back and safe. geri.

  47. oh I am just one of you blog "stalkers" and i watched this just now. I was cracking up when the music came on. Good editing! maybe that should be on your career path too. ANyway thanks for a great laugh. COOL car!

    ReplyDelete
  48. How funny! It's amazing what tricks a sleep deprived & tired brain will play on you. Guess you'll need to find a better place to hide the key next time!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Too cool! You guys may have felt scared, but you acted calmly and even had the presence of mind to video it and include us! Thanks!
Glad there was no Lettered Cottage Car Spook ;)

  50. I was scared for you and then I laughed after the "mystery" was solved...how funny.

    ReplyDelete
  51. That is too funny. PS: I wish I lived in a neighborhood where I could leave my car key under the mat.

    ReplyDelete
  52. THAT was one of the funniest things I've ever seen! I have to point out that the key wasn't very well hidden under that mat ... except at nighttime!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I immediately thought of chapter 20 in "Anne of Green Gables". She's conjured up in her imagination that the forest between her house and her best friend's is haunted at night, but her adoptive mother won't hear it. Marilla makes Anne walk through the woods at night...

"Anne never forgot that walk. Bitterly did she repent the license she had given to her imagination. The goblins of her fancy lurked in every shadow about her, reaching out their cold, fleshless hands to grasp the terrified small girl who had called them into being."

Your scope of imagination is wonderful and vast!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Too funny! As a BMW owner, I too wondered if that was the case...thought maybe they had the key and were hiding in the bushes. Be thankful you didn't set off the alarm...BMW alarms shriek something awful! You'd have woken up everyone within a 5 mile radius!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I love this post! Hilarious! I was scared just watching it! You guys rock!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Guys.. I'm seriously cracking up... Thanks for sharing.. too funny :) Amber

    ReplyDelete
  59. Layla and Kevin,

Okay...that would have freaked me out. Especially when calling the neighbor and she is totally perplexed. Oy! Glad it turned out okay. I agree with the posting above...you should turn it in to America's Funniest Home video.

  69. I'm not gonna lie, if it had been me, I would have been crying! But at the end I was laughing so hard! Thanks for sharing you guys!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Ok, you had me scared!!! I would have gone inside and bolted the door...and put a sofa against the door...and a chair...and the refrigerator...just in case the car got any ideas during the night!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. 2 funny! (and we have the same mat, hope it doesn't start doing strange things!)

    ReplyDelete
  72. That's just SO funny!

I loved it when "strange" things like that happen! But we never find out the answers... o.o

Time to find a new hiding place for 'THE KEY' though! :)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  84. I was terrified watching that! I was hoping nothing was going to jump out and frighten you and me too while watching! So happy the car wasn't haunted!

    ReplyDelete
  85. LOL oh my gosh that was hilarious! I know some mini coopers & BMWs have that problem with the windows doing their own thing due to a faulty switch or hitting a button too many times on the key fob.

    ReplyDelete
  86. HAHAHHAHA!! That was great. "The key is under the mat and it does have those controls". How funny. Um, ya..it cracked me up when you said, "What do I text? Come out of the bushes?" ROFL! That is hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Oh. my. word. Hysterical! I couldn't believe how calm your face was when you were "frieked out." My eyes would've been huge and scared!

Just think if you had texted "Come out of the bushes!" Your neighbor would have thought you were loony. So funny!

What presence of mind to video the whole thing though. Definitely AFV material. You could win big with that one!!

Nothing that says "welcome home" like a haunted car in the driveway!

    ReplyDelete
  90. OH my gosh, that was hilarious! I was on edge the whole time, thinking something was going to jump out of the screen like those obnoxious emails (that I forward to everyone I know). ;)
