1. mirror
2. candle
3. plant/flowers
4. basket
5. tray
If you could only pick one, which of these five accessories would you say your room can't live without? I vote for #1, mirror. I love how they instantly open up a room, and for me, the more sunshine the better. Wouldn't be a cottage without it, right? But I must confess, I have a MAJOR basket fetish, so #4 is a very close second! Anybody else have a hard time resisting the little wicker wonders? :-)
Excellent work, Layla, excellent!
ReplyDeleteHappy day
May I add another possible choice -- books! I adore ALL of your choices -- but my books (mostly decor books LOL!) must have a spot in any home! Let's see: how about artworks? lamps? as more possible choices ......

Now thats a hard one!... I guess I would say candles. no wait maybe a mirror,..ok can we have two things? hehe Susie H
ReplyDeleteOh yes... mirrors first! Then plants/flowers, then candles. I love baskets too, have a zillion.
ReplyDeleteI think plants soften a room instantly and make it look so lived in. We took all of ours out for the summer and our rooms seem so bare.

Hi Jan!
ReplyDeleteI considered books, art, lamps, etc, but the question started getting too broad. So out of the choices I listed, which is your pick? :-)
Mirrors are right up there for me too, followed by plants. I'm loving plants these days.
ReplyDeleteLayla,
ReplyDeleteCandles. As soon as I light a vanilla candle, I feel at home and relaxed.
Love your blog and can't wait to see how your progress on your cottage home.

Hmmmmmm -- must go with your choice of mirrors too -- since THAT section of any decor store draws me in like a moth to a flame ...... but I do have baskets and trays (that usually hold candles BTW LOL!) by the dozens too!

What a fun blog...and beautiful job you are doing on your cottage!! Sarah White drew me here, and you, Sis, are now in my fave blog list!
ReplyDeleteOk...to answer your question...no doubt about it, but plants, leaves, flowers. I am always filling pots and vases with palms and greens and flowers. Huge...small. A room can transform with some palms from the outside for me!
I love your blog, Layla. I am enjoying your remodeling and the front garden looks so wonderful. What a great Mom you have! I would have to agree with teacats....books. OMG-there is not one room in my home without books. They are everywhere, on every subject! I also would have to go with candles as a tie with books!
