Daffodils for the Guest Room

My Mom is coming up for a visit today.
I am so excited to see her!
I think we're going "junk huntin" at Eastbrook Flea Market tomorrow.
I'll be sure to take my camera and share some of the treasures we find.
Tonight, I imagine we'll play a game of "Upwords", drink some sparkling wine, snack on cheese and crackers and, no doubt, laugh til we cry. :-)
In anticipation of her arrival, I took a short stroll out my back door this morning, to clip a little bunch of daffodils for the Guest Room.

I bunched them together, and wrapped some hemp string (tied into a tiny bow) around the stems, above the water line. My Mom's favorite hobby is combing the beach for shells, so I used a handful of them at the bottom of the glass jar as a personal touch that will really speak to her.

Refreshing, pretty and guaranteed to brighten up the Guest Room.

Just like my Mom.

:-)

  4. I love daffodils...they are such a happy flower:) Love your blog too. So many great ideas. I too have painted my cabinets. Come on over to my blog and have a look. It is a work in progress so...be prepared:) It's amazing what a difference a bit of paint can do for a piece of furniture. Hope you have a good weekend with your Mom. It sounds like you two have such a sweet and fun relationship. I hope to have that with my girls.

  22. Layla-

When I take a break at work I tool around a few (lots) decorating blogs as I like to call them- it's a nice afternoon treat. Your site is by far my favorite. Hands down. I just LOVE your style- the way you communicate-your photos- ideas-your love of your Mom and the sheer joy you have about decorating is contagious. I ALWAYS go to your blog and to tell the truth- I have deleted a few sites from my "daily tooling" and I plan no deleting a few more but NEVER EVER yours. Thank you for all you do- it is inspiring!!!!!! Lynda
