Hi Layla! I absolutely LOVE your site, ideas, and especially what you've done with your house! :) This is the first time I've ever commented, but I was hoping you might be able to help me with something.
I finally purchased my "drop cloth" curtains (thanks so much for the idea!!), and LOVE how they turned out! However, my whole entire bedroom SMELLS like them and I was wondering if you have some insight on what I could do to get it to go away?! I know it's a naive question, but I didn't know if you had some creative response ;)
I'll be watching Design Star for the first time tonight! And I definitely want to be put on the waiting list for a consultation, but I'm not sure what that entails....I check out your blog more.
Ah, I'm so happy little Fleamarket has eaten so well. He is sooo sweet! I would take him in heartbeat but we are just too far from you in NC. At least I'm assuming. I don't even know where you are. LOL!
Our cat Chestnut was a stray we found on Christmas Eve of 03' in our own backyard. He was two pounds and has never been outside again. He doesn't even know the difference. Now he weighs a whopping 21 pounds and is beyond spoiled.
I hope you all reconsider and keep him inside with you and your other cute pets. I'm sure it would work out. If not I hope you find him a a home soon. Thanks for sharing this story with us.
I bet if you put an ad on Craigslist and added a link to your video {the one where you found FleaMarket or another cute video}, you'd get some response. Years ago I took in a stray dog until I could find her a home and I discovered that she was very pregnant...When the pups were born and old enough to give away, I created a little puppy cottage style photo shoot and placed the link address in the paper. I found all them homes within one day...our phone didn't stop ringing for a week, hehe. In the end we decided to keep the mama dog ourselves. Here's the link to photos if your are interested in doing something similar. This was years ago and I can't bring myself to take their photos down...
Our neighbors cat has adopted us - We don't feed him - but I sure love him. We're in a rental and don't want to pay the pet deposit - so it's been fun having him hang around...
Aw, cute kitten. I wish he were a girl, I'd take him in a heartbeat. I just lost one of my cats on Thursday to pancreatic cancer. My current/only cat is male. I worry about them not getting along. Hope you find an inside home for him soon.
I was just looking through your comments to see if anybody wanted the kitten. I don't live in the area but I was curious. I noticed the first comment from Laura and she was asking about the drop cloth's. I love to use this fabric as well. But I wash mine several times with lots of fabric softener first before I create anything with them. I was wondering if you do the same and I thought maybe Laura would read this and it would help her out. Anyway, Love your blog. Been following for awhile now!
I'm so glad that Fleamarket finally had a good amount of food to eat. I think you should keep him. Obviously he chose you. Cats are like that, in my opinion. When I was a kid a cat showed up in the building where I lived. Well, I already had a cat and my folks didn't want another one. People used to throw glasses of water at this poor animal to make him go away. But he would always come back, to my house. One day my mom, who is a softie, finally fed him some food and that was it. I ended up with two cats. He chose us.
Another time a cat in the neighborhood had kittens. Most of them "disappeared" one at a time, except for one kitten who wouldn't let anyone touch her. One day my dad and a neighbor finally grabbed her and put her in a box. They were going to drive her to another neighborhood (the barbarians!). She scratched my dad so he went to wash off the blood. By the time he returned the cat had escaped the box. Oddly enough, after that incident she would follow my dad around and he was the only person in the world that could pet her. They were best buds for years after that.
So, you see, that's why I think that you should keep Fleamarket. He chose you for a reason. Keep him, don't give him up. He chose to be part of your little family.
THANK you Layla, for making the decision to find him an indoor home. I have two indoor kitties and wouldn't dream of having them outside in the elements. Spoiled they are, ohhhh yes! :)

ReplyDeletePuppies
I did one for a stray kitten later, too, but I think I did end up removing that link from the web as soon as we found her a home.
Just an idea I thought I'd pass along!
