Hi Layla,
I have been reading your blog for some time now. I came across it when I was researching black painted kitchen cabinets. I haven't yet taken the plunge, but have enjoyed reading your blog. I absolutely loved what you did with the nesting crates and was so excited to hear Sarah had them for sale through her Etsy store "Whitewash Sundries"!
I've attached a few pics of what I've done with them.
Right now they are filled with platters, napkins and plates that we frequently use. I know that it will be so much fun to find different things to fill them with throughout the year and the changing seasons.

I am in LOVE!!!!
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend! Fleamarket is one smart kitty...He knows a good cottage when he sees it!
ReplyDeleteI love how your friend used her crates. Cute cute!
Those are gorgeous! I would have never thought of using crates for kitchen storage. Hmm...
ReplyDeleteLayla -
ReplyDeletethe hyperlink is taking me to another Lettered Cottage store! Someone is stealing your ideas :(
The crates are wonderful - I loved them too and ordered them as well. Quick question - are the crates the same ones you bought and have hanging in your kitchen? I only ask because the hooks appear to be a different color? The ones on the Lettered Cottage look like black wrought iron and the new ones are different?
ReplyDeleteAaah, the power of a sales pitch (or not even a sales pitch!)! I've been putting off ordering these - I wanted them the MOMENT I saw them on your kitchen wall! Can't wait to get mine!!! :)

What a beautiful dining room Colleen has! The crates fit perfectly in there!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the crates!!! I need to order them. :) Just read your post about the wiring problem. My shower light turns off and on all the time by itself...I had no idea that meant something bad. :s Maybe I need to get an electrician out here. Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely kitchen and a beautiful use of the boxes- not to mention the great letter. la
ReplyDeletewonderful use for the crates, it makes for an interesting wall too. Have a nice evening. Sandi
ReplyDeleteOh, those look wonderful! I think she should share more of her home, it looks so pretty. I'm begging, begging, begging for the paint color on the top 1/2 of the dining room. If she will share it I will forever be grateful. Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love these crates and also ordered on the first day they went one sale. It's great to see how others use them. I can't wait until my set arrives!
ReplyDeleteI have the crates, too, and love how she hung them. I never would have thought to spread them out like that. That gives me so many more options of places I can hang them. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the french country look!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! Thank you for your lovely comments!! To answer a few questions: the chairs and table are from Ballard Designs; and the wall treatment above the chair rail is something I made up. It is a neutral base color in eggshell (not even sure what color) with glazed down raw umber rubbed on with a cheese cloth. Hope that helps, and thanks again for the sweet comments!
