Kevin shot these photos (and the one above) there recently:
Here's Mom and I on Saturday...checking out the view...
After a nice walk, we parted ways with Kevin and made our way to the Flea Market.
Here's a photo of the first thing that made my heart flutter...
It was supposed to have made its way home with me, but I forgot to grab it on my way out the door. I did hide it though...so hopefully it's still there and I can go get it sometime soon. :-)
This booth is always filled with such cheerful things...
I had to take a picture of this sign because I've had three different people quote this exact same line to me recently! (You know who you are!) :-)
This cotton wreath is full of Southern charm...
I would have bought this scrumptious, chippy old shelf too, if it wasn't $125!
I stopped in my tracks when I saw this old seltzer bottle. I would love to start a collection of these someday. I love the idea of displaying them in my Kitchen. They would really speak to my stainless steel appliances and vintage, metal locker baskets. (Oh, that's right, I don't have stainless steel appliances yet. Boo.) :-(
Priced at only $15, I may have to go back for this baby too...
The dusty blue color of this next piece really appeals to me. The price tag read "$699". Ouch. I think I could replicate this piece pretty easily though, so I put it in my idea file. :-)
I've seen these old rolling laundry hampers used at side tables a lot lately...
Here's an example from the book "Decorating Junkmarket Style":
Of course, you could always use it for what it was intended to be used as too...
I think it would be so fun to base an entire Laundry Room around this piece!

Another item I may have to go back for is this old grain sack:
It was only $15, and I can already see it as a pillow or a seat cushion here at the Lettered Cottage.
I don't remember how much this frame was, but it seems like it was priced a little high.

Super cute stuff...I have been waiting to see what you ran into! ;) We have a Flea Market coming up in our city this month! I am excited! I will have to post what I find!
Those are some amazing finds! Nearly anything less than $15 is usually finds its way home with me somehow. But I don't think our flea market has anything nearly as spectacular as yours.
Great finds Layla!
I can't believe you forgot that pedestal. I hope it's still there. Also love that laundry basket.
It would be nice to have a flea market like that here.
I have my eye out for those vintage locker baskets.
ooo those photos are beautiful - he is very talented. You have such good ideas with everything you find. I love that old vintage kitchen scale!

I LOVE your taste!
Oh I love the vintage kitchen scale. I collect them and have four of these beauties. Thats a great price, too. Thanks for the virtual antique trip. :-)
Looks like fun to me! Cant wait to see what you found to bring home -
Man...wish I could have been there with you! I am hunting high and low for something phenomenal to put over my bathroom mirror. It is a tall wall space and needs an old architectural piece. Maybe one day...
Thanks for sharing the pics!

Great finds! I love that island. I found a wonderful island over the weekend at a flea market we went to and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it! You posting that table is making it worse. Hmmmmm....I just can't decide if I want to go back and see if it is there or not. It's been on my mind since Saturday.
Looks like you had a great time

Hey Layla! I was so excited to see your post on Eastbrook as you know that is my old stomping ground too! In fact, I almost went there on Sunday with my mom but didn't make it. It's amazing some of the stuff there. I was at an auction Sat. night with some of the vendors there and will be looking for the stuff they bought to put in their booths my next visit.
The booth that has the "beach" sign belongs to my friend Linda. You can go to my 10/18/08 post to see her house in "person". I'm trying to talk here into starting a blog...maybe someday she will.
Maybe we'll get together one day at Eastbrook or Prattville flea markets, I love those too!

Great finds! I went to our local flea market on saturday too. You can see what I found over at my blog.
Love the Cotton Wreath AND the laundry basket! Since I live near many cotton field (outside of Houston)that would be an easy, fun project to do. However, the branches are a bit brittle by the time they pick the cotton. Have you ever stopped by the side of the road to gather a bit of cotton for a project...it's really scratchy but ever so SOUTHERN AND CUTE!
Thanks so much mailing me, it was so kind of you!!I find your blog very inspiring and I will come back soon!! Have a nice day:)
Cooters Pond!??!?! The 8 year old girl that lives inside me who still laughs at the word "doody" is cracking up.
Love that laundry hamper. Have had that on my 'want list' for awhile.
What great ideas! I have to take advantage of my local flea market to get some decorating inspiration too. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. That first picture of Cooters Pond is stunning.
What fun you had. Everything looks wonderful, controlling yourself must be so hard! It would be for me!!

His photos of Cooters Pond are fabulous. Cooter-- reminds me of the Dukes of Hazard :) way back when. Great flea market too. Looking forward to seeing what you brought home (and how you will use it).
That scale is fabulous!

I am a cotton trader, so I loved seeing the wreath. I trade cotton, but rarely have a chance to actually have any in my hands. Also, my grandparents were from Roanoke, Al so I loved seeing the grain sack! Would love to find one and make a pillow for my mother.
so many awesome finds!!!
Hey! I just noticed you changed some of the pictures in your header -looks great!! :)
I found one of those wire laundry baskets out on someone's curb on trash day! It went home with me and lives outside as a planter. Love the side table idea, though. That has me thinking I might want to bring it inside!
