Iron Architectural Element & Mason Jars

Remember this chippy, blue architectural element I saw at the Eastbrook Flea Market a while back? I remember that it was priced right around $200.

The other day I came across this one, online for $600:

It's available here: The Bella Cottage

Now I know it's not quite as big, or ornate, but does that mean the blue one is actually cheap? :-)

Have you been looking for decorative jars to display your office/craft items in? I found this while surfing the net for accessories for a client:

It's available here: ShabbyChic.com

I'm a huge fan of using jars, baskets and boxes in home offices and craft rooms. Check out this one:

She's only got one jar pictured in this photo, but she uses LOTS of them all over her 750 square foot apartment and I love it! I have several of the same pieces she does in my own home office. Gotta get some jars though.

Hi Layla, Wal-mart has some very inexpensive Martha Stewart knock-off jars...they have a vintage look, but they're less expensive. Check it out. I'm a big fan of storing things in jars, bins, and boxes...the white boxes from the Container Store are all over my closets. You need a dishwasher, you need a dishwasher..... :)

Now I'm thinking that I need a dishwasher! Subliminal messages! haha! I love the jars too! I keep a small amount of coffee in one so I don't have to lug out the big container I buy!

I love Crown jars, picked up a bunch last summer. You can get them at flea markets for $3-$8 each. They are from Canada (or so I'm told). There's also tons on Ebay. Hope that helps!!

Im using jars to hold staples on open shelving in my kitchen remodel. I love the simplicity and convenience. http://katswhimsy.blogspot.com/2009/01/break-time-is-over.html

Yes, love my Crown jar. Even better - what you can't see in the photo is the top of the lid. Inside the metal ring mine has a glass disk, embossed with a crown.
I've heard that they're Canada's version of our "Ball" brand canning jars.

All the best,

I just finished saving for and purchasing a new dishwasher, so I feel your pain. Now that it's done though, I'm so glad that I saved b/c it's fabulous! And now that the dishwasher's been crossed off my list, it's a free for all with any goodies I might find! Stay strong, you'll appreciate it when you get it!

Laughed at your "dishwasher" comments - so funny. I would never buy a glass jar from any vendor. I just wash out and save ones the ones I like. I guess I'm too cheap to give my hard earned money away for something I have already that I can re-use. Love your blog and your kitchen re-do.

Love the crown jar! I decided to swing in to a flea market that I had never had the time to check out.

I found a huge jar and a regular size jar both with crown on the front. They both also have glass centers in the lid with the crown.
