They sent me photos of their Guest Bath, and an email that read,
"This bathroom started out in all good intentions, but 3 years later- I am ready for something new. I am ready to retire the poster, the chocolate suede-like shower curtain and the chocolate rug. The room just doesn't reflect me, or my style. I am tired of the "Sassy Green" by Sherwin Williams. This is our main bathroom and all of our guests use it. I do like the espresso-colored vanity, but the feel of the bathroom is just not unified with the rest of my home. I keep wondering if I hate the bathoom because it doesn't flow, or because of the green...or the combination of them together! It needs help, but I have completely given up on it. I need a fresh perspective on what to do. I have a $200 budget and want to get it cosmetically back into shape. I want to have a welcoming potty room. I just need some inspiration...some "Layla therapy". :-)
My mind started to race with ideas, and I had a blast creating a drawing for them to use as inspiration! Use your cursor to hover over the photo below, to see what I came up with:
Less than a week after I sent them their drawing, the Billingsley's had completely transformed their Guest Bath! It's new look is tranquil, yet fresh, and most important, more in keeping with the style in the rest of their home. Here are the dramatic "after" photos she sent me:
The blue color is Behr's "Cloud Burst" (490F-5).
She spent just $6 on each framed piece in the room. She used brown cardstock that she already had, and printed the images out using her neighbors computer and printer. (Hers was down at the time) All she had to buy were the frames, and some 12x12 white, linen cardstock. They look great, don't they?
Here's the breakdown on the budget:
Shower Curtain- $30 (Target)
Shower rings- $0 (she just repolished ones she already had)
Shower Rod- $20 (Allen+Roth @ Lowes) The "look-a-like" at Home Depot was $35!
Toilet Plunger- $25 (Lowes) A personal splurge beause they have low flow toilets & its sometimes an ugly surprise for their guests
Flooring- $.98 per linoleum plank for a total of $30 (Lowes) Color: "Hickory"
Paint- $22 (Home Depot) One quart of "Cloud Burst" & one of "Antique White"
2 Towel Bars- $38 total (Home Depot)
3 Robe Hooks- $30 total (Home Depot)
Trim Moulding- $12
Framed Photography- $18 total
Sisal floormat- $5
4 striped hand towels- $20 total (Kohls)
**everything else (shells, soap dispenser, additional white body towels and washcloths) they already had.
Grand Total: $250
The only thing left for her to purchase is this faucet, that she LOVES, for the sink:

Way to go Billingsley's! Your room looks FANTASTIC, and I sure hope you don't consider it a "Level 3 Biohazard Zone" anymore! :-)

What a great makeover. I had to giggle cause my hallbath is sassy green at the momment. That is my next room to tackle. I did love the green and still do but Im ready for a change. So long sassy green...here comes soothing..something! Im still on the lookout for that perfect color. Any ideas?

We have two of those EXACT same teeny-tiny little bathrooms and I've always thought they were just too small to be anything other than a glorified port-a-potties. You have proven me wrong! I can't wait to get to work making mine pretty!

I love the shade of blue! It's similar to the color we have in our kitchen. This bathroom definitely oozes cottage charm now!
