Half Note Den/Office

Sunday, Jessica painted the room at the back of the Half Note that they plan to use as an Office/Den. Previously, when you entered the room from the Kitchen, you were surrounded by three deep red walls, and confronted by a wall of navy, plaid wallpaper.

(excuse the pieced together photos again)

Now, the same Sherwin Williams color "Antique White", that she used in both the Kitchen and Living Room, coats the walls in this space too. She had it mixed at Home Depot, and after a $5.00 rebate, paid just $11.67 per gallon.

The backdoor is also located in this room, as you can almost see in the floorplan drawing above.

The navy carpet has to stay, so the color palette in this room will be blue, cream and white. This palette should be a nice transition from the Kitchen, since the linoleum has blue in it.

Unfortunately Jessica will not be painting the Master Bedroom today, like she had planned.
She spent several hours at the emergency room last night, and after a series of X-rays, has been diagnosed with a very bad bi-lateral sinus infection. The doctor put her on bed rest (here at the L.C.) so that it doesn't turn into full-blown pneumonia. I am forcing her to take it easy, but she wants to paint the bedroom tomorrow. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go install a lock on the outside of our Guest Bedroom door, so she can't escape.

What a transformation that color is! It just makes the room look more cheery and large. It's amazing what a can of paint can do!

It looks great in the antique white. Isn't it amazing what a can of paint can do? Ah, just simply wonderful!

WOW! The forgiving grace of a bucket of nice white paint!

I'm looking forward to see how you work with the blue carpet, since my work office is plagued with green carpet and it discourages me from even trying to make things look good in here.

Praying for Jessica that she is well soon!

Also desperate to see what you do with Navy Carpet - As we have inherited Navy Carpet in our Master Bedroom and I am at a loss as how to decorate around it.

Hope Jessica feels better soon.

I hope your friend Jessica feels better soon!
She's done a great job so far! Can't wait to see more - but ONLY after she is feeling better. The paint can wait a couple of days!

You are a great neighbor and friend to take care of her when she is sick. Make sure she rests up and doesn't paint that room! As great as it is watching the cottage come together, we don't want her getting sicker! It can wait.

Duct tape her to the bed - I've heard it works with kids ;)

Hope she feels better soon - I know how excited she must be to transform her place...but her health is most important.

It looks great!!

Layla, make sure the new/old house has no mold. The same thing happened to me once and the Dr. finally decided it was a mold allergy not a cold/sinus/flu thing. In there cleaning she could have picked it up through the vent system even if not seen.
Hope she is feeling better soon.

Jessica is doing a fabulous job--just working too hard. I know what she is going thru, remodeling an old house can be hazardous to your health! I know each thing she does looks so good that she can't wait to tackle the next and I assume she is trying to have it ready for when her hubby makes it home. You are truly a wonderful friend to be helping her and taking care of her. God Bless..
