I opted for the rinse:
Yeah, I was too chicken to try the neti pot thing. The thought of not tilting my head at the exact right angle and possibly gagging on a mixture of burning salty water was just too much for me to handle. For some reason, I'm not afraid to use a reciprocating saw but I am terrified of all things medical. Just sitting in the waiting room at the doctors office is guaranteed to trigger a "number three".
But my head just won't stop hurting, and my equilibrium is all messed up, so I forced myself to try the rinse.
After several failed attempts, I finally got the saline/water mixture to go all the way in, through, and out my nasal passage three times.
I'm still feeling pretty bad, but I'll try "flushing" again later tonight and we'll see what happens. Don't you know I'm just counting down the minutes 'til I have to stick that thing up my nose again. I can feel it staring me down from across the room as I type.
But enough about me and my stuffy head.

Love love love the Wish! I'm sorry you feel bad. We use our Neti pot A LOT --- even my 7 year old can do it ... not to make you feel bad .. lol! It really is amazing. I recommend it to everyone who sniffles around me.

I started with the rinse, but actually have the exact Neti Pot that is shown on the box of your rinse. It honestly works better than the rinse. I was just afraid of it at first, but glad I finally switched, as it was easier than I thought it would be. I did it in the shower the first time...much easier to 'clean up' if I messed up. But you honestly won't regret it. Let us know if you take the plunge and get the pot...it's worth it, trust me...I was EXACTLY like you! Truly I was the biggest wuss (can I say that?!) Well, I just did. Anyhooo...hope you're feel'in better soon!

Hi Layla & Kevin! So sorry that you aren't feeling well Layla.. The Neti Pot is a great thing! I was the same way at first..terrified! But it's not bad at all! Just takes a little getting use to. We have well water so I buy distilled water to use with it. Hope you feel better real soon!

I can't believe there was another wish up there. I would definitely give Mr. Wish's brother a good home. Although, to me, it certainly looks like a girl - with a diva "smokey eye" going on. About the Neti Pot. I work for an oral surgeon, and after we do major Jaw surgeries (which involve the sinus too with the Upper jaw) he tells every patient to get the neti pot. I am surprised at how many people already use it and love it, and all of them say it helps so much afterwards. Frankly, I am terrified of the tiny little teapot and have not tried it, but its a popular little guy. Just thought I'd tell you that. peaceout

Oh I would love this for my bathroom! I have been looking for the perfect accent and this would definitely work! As for the nasal flush, my son cant stand to have it come out the other nostril, so we just squirt and he blows his nose. Do this a few times and it will feel much better! GEt well!

Wow I'm surprised you got the sinus rinse. I prefer the neti pot over the rinse. The rinse burns my nose and is a horrible feeling. I'm sure it will help you though. Love the wish!

i'd love a wish! And so glad you're using the saline rinse. I used that last year when i was prego and had the worst sinus infection ever. It's a little "weird" esp that feeling of water filling your nose and then coming out the other nostril. But it made my recovery a lot better!
Love the Wish...I heard recently if you press on the roof of your mouth with one finger and then press between your eyebrows with one finger alternately, that this rocks a bone (don't know which one) and causes your sinuses to release....I have not been stuffy since reading it so I am not sure if it is true--couldn't hurt, I guess! Ha!

Hope you feel better asap. For me the rinse is better for allergy stuff. Cleaning furnace and changing filters frequently helps too-but if it's and infection I always have to get antibiotics.
Anyway, the fish is adorable-would fit perfectly into my "midnight at Bay cove" theme in my Master.

The neti helps best when you feel it coming on, dont' get it wrong it will rinse stuff outta there now but you wont get as bad if you start when you can feel it coming on. wow..did that make sense? HAhahaaa.

I just found this blog yesterday and love visiting. Layla I hope you feel better (LOL on "number 3"). My kitten has been suffering from chronic nose issues (snuffles/sneezey/snotty/snorey) and I use "Little Noses" on him (for babies, pure saline). It seemed to help flush him out as after application he usually sneezed (in my face). Love that fish! BarbaraBee
