In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at the hallway after the ceilings and walls were primed...
We still have to add trim to the vertical seams where the walls meet up with each other. I believe that's on Kevin's agenda tomorrow.
Did I mention he's sporting a Kilz-tipped faux-hawk today? :-)
It won't be long before we can start decorating this new, little space- woo hoo! Who woulda' thought I'd ever be so excited about our hallway!?
'Til tomorrow!
Layla

Wow! This area is so cozy looking now. Can't wait to see how you decorate it. Maybe I can use your ideas to help me decorate my back porch.
:) Lauren
I am so pumped for you! This is the cutest hallway ever and you've barely begun to work your magic. You inspired me, so I rearranged several rooms of my house to keep up with your TLC magic.
Layla,
How did you come to find out the hall and ceiling had the vertical boards behind all the sheetrock?
how could you be sure that it would be all around the whole wall?
AND after taking out the sheetrock, how do you prevent cold or dampness from seeping into the house from all the cracks? I hope i'm asking my question right? ahh!
I love yer blog! you and Kevin rock!((:

Hey, I've used that hair color before!!! When I painted the inside of our kitchen cabinets white (a temporary face lift). Then, when I went in to get my haircut - almost a week later, my hairdresser made a comment about my hair turning white very quickly since she last saw me.
Little did I know, I still had paint in my hair. Guess, it'll hold up well in the kitchen!!!
The white boards are looking so nice and clean. Nice job.
Am I crazy to love the primer color?! Ah, I always had a thing for primer anyway:) I'm looking forward to seeing the results! Any YAY for more space to decorate!
Just discovered your blog and am thoroughly enjoying it - love the 143 story!
IT'S HERE!! My cake stand is here. Thank you SO much Layla, I adore it. I just updated my blog and posted a few pictures of it at the bottom.
it's looking so good! how exciting! i LOVE the transom windows. what a great idea. what does the outside of your house look like?
That renovation is looking so great...Yeah, I can't wait to see the finished space...do share:)
It is looking so pretty! My question was the same, what about the insulation factor you are losing from taking out the drywall?
You know Mr. TLC may very well start a new hair trend if you keep this up. Love it! I have sported this same look {hair} a time or two and didnt even know it till someone pointed it out, Ha!
It looks gorgeous just with that coat of primer! How exciting. Even the tiniest space can be a blast to decorate.
:)
OMG, so far its a huge transformation!!! Every morning I read your blog to see what else you have done. You and Kevin are a wonderful team!!
LOVE IT! As usual! You make me want to take a hammer to my plaster walls to see what is hiding underneath! ;o)
Well I love it so far! I can't wait to see the end result!
Sandra
I am loving the primer too!
SMiles!

That is *such* great fun, Layla :) It's going to be awesome. Will you please detail for us all of your thought processes as you decide how to decorate??? :) Yay!
What is hotter than a man with primer in his hair? Nothin'! ;)
I can't wait to see it all pulled together - you guys are a great team and you are doing an amazing job
Wow, both of you never cease to AMAZE me!! I absolutely love every detail you do. Seeing new posts from you is so exciting. :)
Wow, what a difference. They white really brings a lot light to that otherwise dark hallway in the before. those boards also give the hallway some character.
LOL @ your hubby's tipped hair. He is doing better than I would. I would have way more of the primer and paint in my hair than that. I don't enjoy painting.
I haven't checked your blog since before Ripfest 2009 began. Holy Cow. When you want something, you really go after it, huh?!
It looks amazing so far. Can't wait to see it when its finished :)
PS. love the hair
Looking great so far, cannot wait for the reveal...
