Mystery Room

Have you ever wondered where this door led to?

Come a little closer and let me show you.
It leads to THIS door, which is the one we come in and out of everyday...

And this door is located in...

OUR LAUNDRY/MUDROOM!
Congratulations STAHL FAMILY and ANNELIES DEASE!
You both guessed the correct room. :-)
Email me your mailing addresses at LaylaPalmer@aol.com and I'll send you a surprise!

The floor was a really ugly ceramic tile, and hadn't been properly sealed, so the grout was badly stained. Kevin installed the same flooring in here, that he put in the rest of the cottage...it looks SO much better now, don't ya think?

I painted half the room "Natural Choice"
(the same color that's in our Living Room).

I still have to paint this side of the room...

...and figure out what to put in those frames.
(IF I decide to keep them there)

I may have kept the green color, but whoever painted it did a horrible job. It looked like some spots had two coats, while others had one.
So I just decided to go with something I already had to save a little dough.

I have BIG plans for this little space too, and I'll post more photos of my progress tomorrow!

:-)
Layla

Looks great so far.
You can cover that electrical panel with art , if you istall a piano hinge to allow for access , Sarah Richardson did it on the first season of Sarah's house , just a thought , my next house will have a mud room /laundry room .

I so love the dark wood floor you have against the white walls! Can't wait to see more! Love your washer and dryer too!

Looks awesome so far! I have to tell you that I just LOVE your flooring. We've been on a hunt for just the right floor, but I haven't had much luck. Mind sharing what yours is? We've got a few that we're toying with, but I'm insisting that it's not too red as I want more brown (walnut/chocolate) than red. I'm rather picky (no, not me), but from the looks of yours in the pictures, yours looks mighty good.
Can't wait to see more.

YAHOO!!!! I can't believe I won.....it was just a guess because my REAL guess was already taken. Oh well, I guess patience is a virtue. Thank you soooo much. I am very excited. Your blog is a HUGE favorite of mine. Still doing the happy dance!!! Hugs, Annelies

I love leftover paint for this very reason. Saves money and gives you some instant gratification.
You have a lovely Laundry Room Layla.

You should build a storage stand to put the washer and dryer on top of it and then you aren't killing your back pulling stuff out and you can store all the laundry stuff below. That's what I'm doing!

I like that it's nice and bright with all that natural light coming in from the garden door. Cheery - just like a laundry room should be!
