Houzz Ideabook- Mantel Mania: Sprucing The Space Above Your Fireplace

On Monday, March 15th, I'm going to blog about decorating ideas for your mantel. I've searched the internet for ideas many-a-time, and it just seems like there aren't a whole lot of them out there, or they won't work for my particular mantel. My mantel is like eight feet long, and it's been quite challenging to create a nice, well-balanced look that mimics the peacefulness of the fireplace below.

This week my Houzz Ideabook is all about fancying up your fireplace, so click on the badge below to head over there for a looksie!

Hi, just one small request. If possible when you talk about how to decorate a fireplace mantle, could you give some examples of what to do if your fireplace has a built in mirror over it? Every idea I see, people put mirros on the mantle, or on the wall, but ours has this enormous mirror built in, and its gorgeous, but now I need to know what to put on the mantle without layering mirrors, or hanging mirrors as so many like to do. If you have any ideas at all, and could include them in your post I would be SO grateful!

we have a nitch in the middle of our fireplace above our mantel. I've looked on the internet for many ideas, but its hard to find something online. If you could talk about that that would be awesome. I would like to use it and not cover it up!!

So so excited that you are doing something on mantels!!

Oh, I feel everyone's pain...mine has a very narrow ledge...and because of the modern/80's FL style of the entire wall it doesn't lend itself to any easy fixes...

Looking forward to your post!
