My First Place

I've shown you so many pictures of my current home, but I've never shared any photos of the FIRST house Kevin and I bought together. It's very different from the house we live in now, but it's equally (more, actually) as dear to me.

Today, I'll start with photos of the exterior. Then everyday, for the next week, I'll give you a guided tour of each room inside.

If we had not sold it, we would have painted the exteriors brick, carport and trim, and re-surfaced the driveway.

Welcome to Hermitage Drive...

Walking up to the front door:

Here's the back yard:

This is the courtyard on the other side of the brick wall in the carport.

We were going for a Japanese Zen Garden type of a space.
I sure do miss the hot tub we had back there this time of year. :-(

Stay tuned for the first set of interior pictures tomorrow!

Oh my gosh! You are so right, I do love it!!! I bet the interior was to die for too! I cannot wait to see.

You've definitely come full circle in the design world! I like where you've been, where you are, and where you are going!

Mr. went to Auburn and is from Indian Springs (south of B'ham). I know you said you live in Alabama and I'm curious where. I was there this past weekend and was in HomeGoods. The girl in line ahead of me I would have sworn it was you - so much so that I asked her if her name was Layla! Funny thing was she hesitated and then said, "did you say Lacy?" I said no. Turns out her name was Lacy. Weird that it was sorta close to yours and she looked like you. ;)

Can't wait to see interior pics!

Great yard...so big! I have to tell you tho...the outside of the house reminds me of a school. The windows so close to the roof and all. So funny.

LOVE IT! There is nothing like a good ol' authentic mid century modern brick to stop me in my tracks. Was it hard to say goodbye?

I enjoyed the whole tour of your first home! Very Frank Lloyd inspired, esp. with those windows!

Your studio was awesome.

Those sconces by the sofa would've driven me nuts to, the mirrors were a much better option.

Bummer you had to move, but your new cottage is darling and it seems like you are having a blast there~
I like your newest kitchen shots. Can't wait to see your xmas tree and baby grand area re-do. I say go for it!
