Headboard Bench Video

Here's a quick video Mr. LC shot while I was out of town last Monday.

For those of you who can't see video, we'll post photos that he shot while working on the project soon!
(You can also go to YouTube.com and type in "theletteredcottage headboard" and it'll come up there too)

FYI- Mr.LC selected the song playing in the background, but he always replaces the words "Delilah" with "My Layla" :)

How ABSOLUTELY magical!!!

I LOVE that song and have it as a regular on my play list. I especially love the verse about laughing along knowing no one will ever feel this way....you can definitely feel the love, like my husband and I still do, even after 24 years of marriage! AND we were young loves too.

Great video. Awesome bench! Lots of personality - Kevin and the bench.

AND if you look at the entire screen while it's playing, near the end, when Kevin is smiling, facing the right, there you are, at the top of the screen, facing left, smiling back. I just LOVE it!!!

How sweet of Mr. L.C. to share a video on how he made it. I love that bench. I am going to have to get the hubs to make me one. You guys rock.

Love the bench and your entire kitchen. I am swinging between black and white for my cabinets, can't quite decide. I really like the black in yours but my appliances are black, I am afraid it will be too much. Thanks to your handy hubs for the cute and informative video. You two are so sweet together.

Hey, Kevin did a great job on that bench, I love it. Ya'll are really working hard on that space & it is beautiful.

You know I'd love to have you come to B'ham & hang out for the day, so just say when!

Your rendering for that Design Star DR was SO much better than anything they came up with. I actually hated every room for the most part. HOpe next week is better.

I love the bench! I can't believe he did all that work without covering the floor. One time I was assembling something and ended up screwing it to the kitchen floor! LOL, luckily it was our old vinyl floor that we tore out.

girrrrl, you don't know how lucky you have it! My husband is also a musician but he couldn't screw two boards together if his life depended on it. Give that man a big smooch!

You two are so stinkin' cute! Love the bench and LOVE the tutorial of sorts. I will never be able to hear that song without thinking "My Layla". I smiled for you when hearing the verse about times getting hard, and paying the bills with his guitar. What a fun little post!

I can't believe Kevin can build an entire bench in 3 minutes and 48 seconds! He's awesome! By the way, for the first time EVER, Doug was watching while I visited here today. He was quite impressed with Kevin's building skills. Now...if I could just get it to rub off on Doug...

Hi Layla,
What a sweetheart Mr.LC is! The headboard bench is amazing and really sets off the kitchen, a great place to sit and talk to the cook or for the cook to take a rest!. You and Mr.LC are at cutest couple.
Enjoy your day,
Elizabeth

First, you husband is a hoot...totally hilarious!

I love the headboard bench. I've hung onto a headboard for years now and my family has ridiculed me like crazy, but guess what.....Now they are going to have to eat crow because I can make it into a bench. Isn't life grand? LOL

Thank you for the instructions. Piece of cake.

Have a very fantastic Wednesday!

Ahhh...that is the most romantic thing ever! This should be a lesson to all the men out there...THIS is the way to a woman's heart! Lucky you!

My dad always made things for my mom (and me) so that's probably why I like men that can build things!

Oh Layla,
I'm still wiping away the tears. What a beautiful, loving, sweet man. What a great piece to have and hold and share one day with grandchildren, great grandchildren and to pass it on with the story of Mr. LC and his love for his My Layla :-)

Um... patinamarie? I have watched the video 6 times now... I do not see Layla at all. In fact, she posted that Mr. LC made the video while she was out. Weird... :) Let me know the time (minutes/seconds) - I would love to see that. -)

The two of you are such a cute couple. That wasn't a video of your husband building a bench! It was a video of love...you can just see him putting himself and his love to you in that bench! Yall are one AMAZINGLY Cute Couple! :) And like someone else said there you are to the right of the screen just smiling back! :)

Your hubby is adorable! Who was the little doggie running in and out of the frame? Oh, does the seat to you headboard bench open? I don't think so from what I saw in the video, but I was just thinking how super cool it would be if it did, for extra kitchen/dining storage! I'm a sucker for extra storage, since I tend to um, "collect" so much stuff, LOL!

Oh. Your husband is very handy, but I was having a four minute anxiety attack over your hardwood floor!

Umm. Yeah. I don't think I could handle my husband building something directly on our hardwood -- but that's probably my issue!!!!

Great video!
