Pictures from the Past

Have you ever found an old CD, full of photos that you hadn't seen in ages?

I found one marked "Baby Maximus" today...

These photos were taken the day after we got him. He weighed just three pounds! Nowadays, he's tippin' the scales at twelve. :-)

Then I came across one marked, "Baby Maddox", that had a hysterical photo of my newborn nephew on it...

I guess he wasn't feeling the photographer that day. ;-)

Another disc contained photos of my Mom, my brother and me- that were taken a few years back...

Man! That was such an easy hair-do to maintain...hmmmmmm......

This next image, found on a disc marked, "Hermitage" (the street on which our first house sat) really brought the memories rushing back...

It always happened around this time, every year. One day, fire-hued leaves suddenly painted the ground outside my art room windows. I looked forward to that day every time Summer would start to wind down. It was such a pretty sight. Prettier than any work of art I could ever create, that's for sure. I distinctly remember snapping this photo so that I could relive that special Fall day forever. I'm so glad I found it today!

The last photo I was happy to find was on a disc marked "Wedding". It was taken the day Kevin and I got married...

It's hard to believe almost six years have passed since this one was snapped!
What's that phrase?
"Fun flies when you're having the time of your life". :-)

Hope you're having a fun-filled week!

Layla

It is always a nice surprise to run across old pictures ~ it usually happens to me when I am in the middle of cleaning something and I end up on my butt looking through them and smiling at the memories. Baby Max is sooo cute!

I just love coming across old photos...whether in CD form, in a forgotten album, etc. They just bring the memories flooding back, and more often than not a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing your pictures. (Our yard is currently peppered with these lovely little yellow flowers that fell off a tree outside my son's room...it is a welcome reminder that fall is coming!)

Great photos! I had to laugh at Maximus, though. 12 pounds?! Our Maximus was 16 pounds on the day we got him--at 9 weeks. He's now 145. :)

Hi Layla,

I love finding treasures like that. That was a little "gift" for you.

My 6 year anniversary is coming up too (10/10- we chose a date we could both remember).

Hugs,
Barb

Greta pictures. I always love looking at old photos and even not so old photos. Things (especially when you have little ones) change so quickly. It's fun to look back.

I love looking at old pictures! I keep a giant case full of cd's with all my memories burned on them. That view outside the old window is amazing, and I want to see some more wedding pictures!! It's been three years this month that we've been married, I should post a few from ours, too. It's funny it seems like yesterday, but we look like babies in all of them!

Oh Layla~

I always LOVE perusing your blog! I follow more adoption blogs than anything... but being an interior redesigner and home stager myself, I was THRILLED when I happened across your blog one day (months and months ago!!) and I've been hooked ever since! Your down-to-earth spirit and happy heart are so evident and make you a joy to follow!! Your witty humor always cracks me up, too!

Great post today. Love all those 'memory lane' photos. And the one of your nephew CRACKED ME UP! LOL!! At first I thought, "what a precious photo...I don't get it?!"...but then I seen 'THE FINGER'!! Too funny!!! :)

Have a blessed day!

Oh my goodness! Is it weird that I got all teary eyed because I remember when Burger was that little? He weighed in at just two pounds when we took him home and now he's a hefty nine pounder. Sheesh! They're so cute when they're little- plus they have those cute floppy ears. Those were the days.
