Hi!
I made it back!
Safe & sound, and with a backseat full of great junk. :-)
I can't wait to go again next year!
Susie was just as precious as I knew she would be, and Rhoda was just as much fun as she always is. It was truly a blessing to be in their company. I will never forget that day as long as I live!
Most of the items in this photo are things I purchased on the Endless Yard Sale....
....and all for less than $30! The large sailboat was a gift from Rhoda, and the long twig basket set, red metal pitcher and red & white apron all came from a flea market I visited yesterday afternoon. (I got all three items for just $9.00)
The white ceramic candle holders (perfect for the entertainment center in our living room) were $5.00 for the set of three.
And the last thing I bought, for $3.00 was this vintage rubber stamper. It will look great in my office...
The most priceless treasure I came home with though, was one that didn't even cost me a penny. It's a renewed sense of what friendship is really all about. The experience reminded me that you don't have to be the same age as your friends. You don't have to have the same view points or opinions as your friends. Heck, you don't even have to have the same decorating style! Friendship is really just a beautiful blend of trust, support, communication, loyalty and understanding. And much like your home does, your true friends make you feel comfortable about who you are.

I knew I could do something with it once I got it home.
The small silver trophy and two little burlap sacks came from the same Endless Yard Sale vendor. I got all three items for just $5.00.
The tiny white sack with red stripes (perfect for my kitchen) was just 50 cents. (Thank you Susie!) :-)
The spools were $1.00 each, and I plan to use them as candle holders.
The white ceramic candle holders (perfect for the entertainment center in our living room) were $5.00 for the set of three.

But the most important thing I was reminded of is that one must be a friend to have one. Each of our friends have problems they need help with, secrets they can trust us with, and exciting news they want to surprise us with. It's so important for me to remember to meet my friends' needs, just as they always meet mine. Thank you Rhoda and Susie (and Mom, Sarah and Jessica) You're all brilliant, shiny women and your friendship means the world to me!
Now, without further ado, here's the video I shot while shopping the Endless Yard Sale...hope you enjoy "saling" with us!

What a fun trip and such a fun video. Looks like you all had a fabulous day. Love all the wonderful finds. Hugs, Marty
Great finds. I thought you might like to hear about this great FREE giveaway and easy rules. Ends Sunday,Midnight. http://marianneshouseofshopping.blogspot.com/
Love all your finds! Especially that lamp!
We have something similar to this yard sale coming up next week. It's call Bargains Galore on 64! I look forward to it all year. It's a yard sale that spans the stretch of 64 highway in western Arkansas. 160 miles of yard sale bliss! =)
I have trouble deciding which day is the best day. If you go on the first day all the wonderful treasures are still there but their less willing to bargain with you on the price. But if you go on the last day things are semi-combed over but the prices are so low!! So I just like to go on both days! =)
I'm getting up extra early this year to make stops on my way to work!
I love the spools for candlesticks!
What a great day and great finds! Can't see what you do with that lamp. I had to LOL at the spider....seriously, and cover my eyes! I have those big spiders in my place, they are awful, they move so fast once they know you are after them! :)
Ya'll are so cute with your southern accents!!
What fun, wish I lived closer to ya.
Kathleen
I am so jealous! I love yard sales and think this idea is so awesome! Looks like you found some fun things that will look so good in your home. Thanks for sharing!
Oh you girls and your sweet lil southern accents.
I gotta say I love the spools....love them. love them.
Thanks for taking us along...it looks like it was a great day! I love the chair Susie got and the spools you picked up (super great buy!). I use my spools as candle holders, too. Your accents are too cute!
Nancy
How fun to see my girls Susie and Rhoda! I got to meet them at BlissDom back in February and they are both sweethearts.
Thanks for taking this video so we could go along with you for the ride! :-)
Layla,
Looks like you ladies had a great time. I love that you started at the very southern end in Gadsden and I started at the very northern end in West Unity.
Check out my post on the Endless Yard Sale. And I agree, it was the friend time that made the trip so special!
Stephanie
Looks like you had a blast! I love the video. It was great to see y'all in person. :)
Jane
I'm laughing at myself that I just watched your entire video-lol-so jealous that we don't have any big ole garage sales like that around here :( You guys looked like you had a blast.
I am so loving those spools!! In fact...I think my mother in law may have some at her house that I spotted once....hmmmm...hehehe...rubbing hands together...

I just loved this! The video was great! I was even more excited to be able to find Susie. I am a Louisiana girl, too and it's always nice to be able to connect with girls in the area.
I loved your finds! My fav was the lamp. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Adrienne
What a precious description of friendship............... I am blessed with wonderful friends who accept me as I am :-)
Thank you for your blog........ you uplift me in many ways without knowing it :-)
I saw the video on Susie's blog. Looks like such a great time! I wish I had some good girlfriends to do these things with..instead I have to drag my not-so-thrilled husband and he's usually too tired from being at a gig the night before. ha! Cute finds, and for great prices, too!
Great finds at great prices! I need to get that on the calendar for next year!! Would you mind a northern girl tagging along? :)
Amy
How fun! Love the video and can't wait to see what you do with all that great "junk".

I have the PERFECT music you should dub in while Rhoda is circling the yard sale tables -- JAWS theme music!!!
Happy to hear you all had a great weekend. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, girl! You did a great job with the video, that will be a priceless treasure for us to keep forever. I loved our day & you are so right about friendships, they are a treasure.
Love the video! You guys sure looked like you had a great time. I am among the jealous ones.....next year some northern gals need to tag along!
How fun! I love garage sales. So funny thing, the little table that Rhoda said she had in her guestroom and re-sold...I just got a little table exactly like it at a garage sale yesterday for $3.00!
oh my gosh the spools were only a dollar?!!?!?!?!?
and the rubber stamp......AWESOME!!!!!
i want to go next year!!!!!!
fun! I'm the one that walked away with the mirror you wanted...
you gotta be fast;-)
Layla that looks like so much fun!
I'm going to have to track down events like this in my area :)
And, where did you get your shoes? They are too cute, I want a pair!
I am so jealous of all of you that got to go to that sale. Some year, I will make the trek with a Uhaul for all that I will find from California.
Also, what beautiful words about your friends and friendships in general. So true.
Aww looks like y'all had a wonderful time...and you got to meet Susie! Would love to meet up with you again sometime..
{{Big Hugs}}

Looks like you scored, Layla! Great job on the finds!
Sounds like an awesome trip all around: Great finds and greater friends!
Too fun!!! I just love the lamp. My mom collects vintage spools as well. She has used a few as candle holders. You got so many great scores! And more importantly, you totally hit the nail on the head about friendship. Hope you have a great day!
How unbelievably FUN! What a great time you gals must have had. thanks for taking us along for the ride. All 3 of you are absolute sweethearts and inspire me daily!

Neat finds with fun ladies, you can't get much better than that. Glad you guys had sucha nice time together.
"My upper lip tastes like sweat, which is kind of good...'cuz I'm kind of hungry."
ROFL! That just totally cracked me up! You are just too cute! I enjoyed your video very much - thanks for taking us all along!
Now that's what I call some great road trip'in!! :) Looks like you came away with some great finds! LOVE them all!...SO you!
poor spider :(
I saw pictures of your trip on the other 2 girls blogs. you guys look like you had fun. I would have grabbed everyone of those items as well-well maybe not all the old yarn spindles but just because I already have so many. I love that lamp too.
Oh and just so you know I can't see all of your pictures.
Sorry-I've been out of commission -- terribly sick for over a week-- but do you want to know how I cut my grocery bill in half? go to Cut your grocery bills now plus I have a give a way and a new MckLinky party starting Monday

Its So Very Cheri
Wonderful friends, fun and finds! Thanks for sharing!
Looks like great fun. The yard sales here this weekend, umm, not so much.
That was seriously such a fun video and made me salivate for our next yard sale experience! My mom and I go "saling" almost every Saturday and find the coolest stuff! You've inspired me to tape our trips too! How fun! :)
Oh, I'm so happy for you. Good friends are worth their weight in gold. Nice finds...You'll have to show how you use them.
Went with 2 friends also and you make me wish I had taken a video - although we did get some hilarious pics. We loved the friendliness and genuineness of all the locals - even though it seemed like we were in a different country at times :) Next year....a video!!!!
I enjoyed traveling along with you guys on the junkin circuit. I think I'll put it on my calendar for next year.
Mama Bear
What fun! And you are right, friendship is a treasure that is priceless.
Great finds -- especially the lamp! It would look wonderful painted black with some wonderful words on it for detail!
Jan at Rosemary Cottage
did you find anything for your website? Will you be adding any items soon? :)
Looks SO fun! I wish we had something like that here in Kansas. I am curious to know if you bought anything to sell in your new store! ; )
Oh wow! You found some great stuff! Can't wait to see what you do with all of it! :)
Looks like you had a great time...and what a steel those burlap sacks were at $5.00. So many possibilities for them.
Tricia - Avolli
What a great time!!! And some good finds!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I was jealous of you all weekend!
OOOOOO MY GOSH, WHAT FUN DID YOU HAVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any suggestions for a ton of shells I found over the weekend ?????
Me and Hubby went to it also. We went to Pikeville TN and began the journey, of course this morning when I was photographing all of the junk I purchased I accidentally deleated ALL of our trip photos!!! Crapo, there was no getting them back, I have only memories now of all the wonderfull junk!! Blessings, Janna
I love all of those spools. They look nice with vintage lace wrapped around them too. I just finished making some, they turned out so nice I do not want to sell them right away. Sandi
I went to Gadsden, too! My friend,Anne, bought the sign "Open Daily to 6:00" for her kitchen! I would have bought that hideous Bobbie lamp except it was way too expensive- $175!!! It looks just like my husband and he wears the Bobbie costume every year for our city's Victorian Christmas Tour! The problem is he would LOVE the lamp and I would have to look at it every day!!! We had the best time - friendship, girl talk, laughter and counting our blessings!!
Hello Layla,
This video was soooo cute. It looks as though you and your garage sale buddies had a great time. I especially loved what you said about friendship; you're right, it transcends age, creed, decorating style, and so much more:)
Best,
Debi
Where is this Engless Yard Sale being held? How do I find out more about it next year? Sounds like fun, fun and more fun.
What fun finds... and a great day with friends!
While I was sitting on the beach during my vacation my phone alarm went off and everyone asked what that was about. It was my notice to myself that the sale was beginning.
I texted all my friends and we were sad together that we were missing it. What a great trip :)
I just bought a porcelain candleholder just like the small, short one for $3.99 - I would have rather had all three for $5. :)
So fun! And such great treasures! Glad you had such a wonderful time!
the vintage rubber stamper looks like the one we still have at the library to date our date due slips at the library..lol
Great finds!
omg yall are from louisiana!?! ME TOO! I live in New Roads! Come by and visit my blog sometime! Big hugs
toodles-
Sarah
I love those treasures!! When do you think I could join you? ;) Yard Sales are my middle name....my house is 99% decorated with Yard Sales Treasure!
Now I know why I can't find an old glider - they're all at the Endless Yardsale! :)
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Sure looked fun - and HOT!
