Favorites of 2009: Blog Posts

Happy New Year!
Now that the 2009 has come to a close, our final "Favorites" is about blog posts.

Writing has become such an important part of my life over the past couple of years.
I call it my passion, my family probably thinks of it more as an obsession. :-)
Each morning, I find myself pulling my laptop onto the bed before I even think about pulling the covers off.
Contributing to this blog has been both therapeutic and thrilling for me.

It is my lettered love.

It filled a void and helped shape a more confident, creative me. It opened doors when I was fumbling for my keys. It introduced me to hundreds of friends that I look forward to "seeing" every day. :-)

Here are some of the posts I particularly enjoyed putting together for our blog in 2009:

A Door with a View

Beer Garden Bench Re-do

House Tour - Union Springs, AL

Presto Chango

Maple Street Marvel

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And here are some posts that I loved reading in 2009...

Viola "May" Johnson

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anniversary in Eureka Springs, Part One

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leave Your Mark

Awakening

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slop Bucket

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Homeless Man in my Dumpster

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Home Wasn't Built in a Day

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Never Say Never

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And last, but not least, Brin at My Messy Thrilling Life:

First Box. First Night.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the authors of these incredible posts happen to be reading this,
thank you so much for writing them!
:-)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for hosting another Linky session!
It wasn't until I read Presto Chango that I realized you and Kevin must have moved in at almost the same time as we did into our house. Your collection of before and afters is just incredible - we are, of course, lagging behind totally in the transformation league, but I'm trying to just enjoy the journey :)

I love all of those blog posts as well! I have two that are new to me, so thank you. :) I'm not quite sure, but I'm pretty sure the picture you have with Darby's name under it (from Fly Through my Window) is Erika, her sister. I could be wrong, though...

Thank you for a wonderful year of great blog posts!!

I'm honored, Layla! You should keep doing these posts, I love them. I always check out all the blogs you suggest.
Happy New Year! I hope this is an amazing year for you two.

Ok, my husband is at home sick on this New Years Day and I was feeling kinda blue picking up yet another toy from the living room foor, then I read this from one of your favorite posts, "However, he was extremely happy to learn that I wasn't calling him a "PLAIN WU-SSY" in front of the whole neighborhood"
That made me laugh out-loud!! Thank you for the laugh and the smile on this first day of 2010!

What a fun idea! I recently discovered your blog and absolutely love it! I am not a DIY but always feel like "I can DO this" when I see what you're doing.

Maybe you'll make a DIY out of me yet!

Layla -

First of all, I love your blog! I discovered it a few months ago and have been reading it ever since! You, and others, have inspired me and I've started my own blog, too. If anything, it's just an outlet for me. It's a way to express myself and write down all of those thoughts flying around in my head!!

By the way, you have mentioned a favorite flea market in Prattville (I think it was Prattville). I live in Calera, in South Shelby County, so let me know where that flea market is! I need to check it out!

Wishing you much success in the new year!!

I love all your posts as usual but the Maple Street Marvel somehow got skipped in the past and my husband and I just drooled over all the photos. I don't know how our 3 kids, 3 dogs and 3 birds (and a zillion big Koi) would feel about picking up and moving but it's always on our mind and places like that tease that craving! My link is ENDLESS goodies at my fav store and there are actually 3 posts of photos, so you have to click on "older posts" to see the others...believe me it's TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Layla & Kevin,

It's been said truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget. We will never forget The Lettered Couple.

Thank you for including us in your list of favorites and featuring us in your post. What a surprise and honor.

We wish you a year of happiness, health and prosperity.

I'm sorry, I totally messed up on my link "The Battle Of The Leg Hair." I was thinking I wrote it this last year but I actually wrote it in Dec. of '08 (didn't notice it until after I linked up)

So it's a little more than a year ago. I don't know how to delete it so thought I'd leave you this comment so you can delete it as it's not quite an '09 post.

I really do love your blog as I said in my earlier comment and thank you for hosting this. I am enjoying checking out all these blogs!

Okay, I think I went a little overboard, and I might have linked to the wrong McLinky (sorry!), but it's hard to pick just one!! Thanks for the opportunity, though!

Oh, and I just LOVED that post you linked up about the auction! So moving!
