Lettered Cottage- Guest Bedroom, revisited

I get a lot of questions about the wood wall in our Guest Bedroom, so I thought I'd re-post this little video Kevin and I filmed last year while uncovering our "buried treasure"...

Of course the room looks different now...

...you didn't really think I could leave well enough alone, did you? :-)

Layla,
When I click on the video, it says "private video, etc". Is there a reason i can't view the video? Do I need to be logged in somewhere?

It won't let me watch...says it's a private video. Is there something I need to do? Your help is appreciated.

I couldn't watch your video. I got a message saying that it was a private video and I would have to accept your friend invitation to view it. But I love the photos. I've loved your guest bedroom since you posted the first photos after the renovation.

How adorable are you two??! Did you know there would be planked wood walls underneath the sheetrock? Too cool! I just love your guest room....I want to be one of your guests, LOL! I'd curl up with a good book and you wouldn't see me, I promise!
p.s. who did the song for your video? ;)

I saw the video. You guys are silly.

I love the guest room, especially those wonderful walls! What an awesome find. Did you know or suspect those would be in there or was it a big surprise?
I love how light and bright that room is.

We found the planks inside the closet and suspected they ran all the way down the wall.

We were a little nervous pulling back the first piece of sheetrock, but were very excited to find the wonderful planks!!

Hi Layla,
Thank you for responding to my email... I see you found the 'real deal' behind those walls!! I would have been dancing, too!

You and your hubby are too cute for words! Thanks for sharing the you-tube clip. I look forward to seeing more of your designs.

You are so amazingly talented. Thank you for sharing these pictures with us - I only wish I had an ounce of your talent.

In addition, I really enjoyed watching your video. What a sweet couple you are.

What a fun video. My favorite part is the beginning when Kevin and you are dancing--so young and in love. What a wonderful treasure waiting behind the drywall. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the finished bedroom and will line up to be a guest. I'd never want to leave which would probably not be a good thing after a while no matter how polite a guest I was:-)

What a cute video! You guys have done such a great job with that room. Was that your husband's band playing the song on the video?

The mattress ticking quilt is one of the nicest, most stylish quilts I've seen!

What a fun video and always something to look back on with fond memories! I loved especially how you were just running around with your broom - that would be my job too! I am sticking it in my inspirational folder - Love the wall!!

I just love that bedroom. I'm re-doing my kitchen and thinking about putting up a wall like that, or using wood to make a rough wainscotting - instead of bead board, just strips of wood and then painted over. I really love the look and your style. You've inspired me so much.

Boy did you remind me of myself, cleaning up during the tear out, it's so much better that way, isn't it? Adore your room, love the video.

I love the way you and your hubby "Play" together...it's clear that you are great 'friends' as well as partners!! It's that fun and light-hearted love that keeps a marriage together. Your playfulness was fun to watch! OH, and I LOVE THE ROOM, too! I loved it the first time I saw it in your older posts... great job! It's so "Coastal/Cottage Living" !!! :)

Oh my goodness! We totally had this same discovery in an old farmhouse we just bought. We plan to rip down the sheetrock and paint it white just like yours. I hope it turns out as pretty!
