First stop, the Post Office to mail our last giveaway winner her sensational soap. Next stop, Burger King. Love that chicken sandwich of theirs! And after that, I headed to Books-A-Million to check out their selection of the latest and greatest in shelter mags. There's nothing like a wall full of brand new, beautifully-shot images of interiors to get my blood a-pumpin! (And since my skin is practically see-thru at this point, I'm sure everyone in the store was well aware of how excited I was too. I'm not joking. I've got purple lines running from my temples to my cheeks right now. It's nuts.)
At my Books-A-Million, the magazines are located all the way at the back of the store. Which is kind of a bummer because if they were closer to the front door I might actually be able to catch a couple of rays. Or in the very least, feel a little less like a vampire. But the walk across the ginormous store was good for me, and before long I found myself standing in front of my favorite chunk of shelves. You know the ones. They hold copies of all of our favorite "regulars"...Coastal Living, Better Homes & Gardens, Country Living, Kitchen & Bath Ideas, 100 Decorating Ideas for Under $100, 100 Ways to Cover Up the Veins on Your Face, 100 Ideas.....
Wait a second.
What was that last one called?
(Okay, no more skin jokes, I promise.)
:-)
As my over-stimulated, yet overjoyed eyes continued to make their way across each and every row, two hot pink words suddenly stopped them dead in their tracks.
"Huh? Hold up. There's no way. It's not supposed to be here 'til the 23rd?"
But much to my surprise, it was the magazine I was secretly hoping to find there today. I couldn't help but let out a little burst of excitement as I pulled it up and out of the rack...
I just stood there looking at it. Beaming and reading, reading and beaming. It was so much fun to finally see it after all these months of wondering what it would look like!
After a ten minute chat about why I was so excited with a very nice lady who happened to be standing next to me at the time, we hugged good-bye and I raced up to the check out counter. Even though I had originally wanted to spend some time outside of the house today, I simply could not wait to get back to it and read my new magazine.
So I'd like to send out a BIG thank you to Matthew, Ki, Linda, Sarah, Jenny, Tim, Heather and Stacey for creating another thing for this "homie" to be happy about today!
It's one of the most beautiful, fun and informative magazines I have ever had the pleasure of reading and I will certainly be referring back to it for inspiration in the future!

In other news, Kevin and I will be re-guesting this nest this weekend, and I look forward to sharing some updated photos of it next week!
Have a happy weekend-
Layla

Can't wait to read it! How exciting for the both of you! The Brimfield Flea Market is only about 12 weeks away and only about 45 minutes from my home! YAY! Maybe I'll see Martha there.
Could you and Kevin PLEASE do a mini lesson on installing non-fancy molding? I want to attempt it, but am shaking in my New Balance.

I love your enthusiasm! I had to laugh when you talk about your skin, as I can relate to the vein issue. I might have picked up that magazine for some tips if it was real haha.

If I read these magazines before I go to bed at night I have good dreams. No, I literally do! Have fun with your magazines this weekend, and I hope they make you have good dreams even in your sleep.
I'm SO jealous...I've been looking at all of our markets this week and can't find it. Guess I'll head to Borders or B&N for it this weekend.
Happy Friday Layla and Kevin. :-)
Wow I need to see that magazine. In fact I think I need a collection of them. That's so neat!

Kay
so it's finally on the shelves, eh? i have been waiting as well!!!
Congrats on being included in the magazine. I still haven't got mine yet, but haven't visited the book store yet either, which might account for it.
Looks like a really fun magazine.
I'm jealous !!! I have been looking for this magazine hoping it comes out early and hoping Barnes and Noble will carry it.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, please.
I got my copy, too, at a little local vintage-artsy-lovely store we have here in Newnan, Georgia called The Vintage Flea. I came home and started feeling like a kid at Easter (I figured Christmas had been overused). I keep finding more and more treasures inside...like the picture of one of my fav bloggers' kitchen. ;) Love it!!
Awesome! So, how's the bathroom coming along? My hubby and I love watching your videos!
More good stuff! Thanks guys! Glad you're mentioned. Linda is a peach, isn't she?
Shoot, I was at Barnes & Noble searching for Flea Market Style today, I thought it was supposed to be out on the 19th! Congrats on the well-deserved feature guys. Can't wait to see it! :)
I saw that you were mentioned in Flea Market Style! How exciting! I loved the magazine! I have been a follower of the Barn House Boys for a few years, so loved seeing them featured in there too! :)
Congratulations!
Congratulations! How exciting! I hope to find it in my bookstore soon.
I just wanted to let you know that I got the magazine as part of my birthday gift today. I was so incredibly excited and can't wait to dive into it!
I immediately went out to find this magazine, and lo-and-behold, there is an article in there about First Trade Days in Canton! I am from a small town about an hour from there and it is always a lot of fun to go. One thing they did not meniton is that they have a great selection of pets as well! If you have never been, it is totally worth it to check it out!
