Bin Pulls and T.G.I.F

I'm still trying to get used to using them to open the drawers. :-)
I got so used to not having anything to pull them open by!

My computer was freaking out yesterday, so I didn't get to post my weekly "T.G.I.T" post. So here it is today!

T.G.I.F - Accessories

What a fab mix of Parisian eye candy, eh?
I must find a way to make a trip to France someday. I spend hours online searching for websites that show all the great, old stuff their flea markets have to offer. It's one thing to scrounge around an "antique/flea mall" in the U.S., but I imagine a completely different & ethereal experience at the open-air flea markets in Europe. My pulse quickens when I think about it. :-)

Anyone ever been there? I'd love to hear about your experiences!

They're beautiful, Layla! Pulls can really change the whole look of cabinetry, can't they? Your landscaping looks great as well! Hope you are feeling better:)

I like them! Similar to what I have but yet different :0). They look great w/the color and look of the cabinetry as well. Good choice. How have you been feeling?

Awesome! I am obsessed with bin pulls lately and these ones are so cool with their squared-off shape. Nice find!

Love those drawer pulls! Do I remember you saying that you found them on ebay? Would love to know who the seller was. My cabinets have no hardware on them and it is driving me crazy!

Vanessa-

Here is the link to the auction I got the pulls from:

Says he only has seven left though,
Hope that's enough!

Looks like the link is getting cut off on my screen. If you can't see it, just type in 4" satin brushed nickel bin pull in the search box on Ebay.

I can only imagine how expensive all those flea market finds would be here. The nice thing about going to France is that you'd get things sooo much cheaper. However, you would have to pay for the flight, and the hotel, and a new wardrobe...

Those look great Layla...I'm using the same knobs in my kitchen!

I lived overseas growing up and have been to the flea-markets in England and Germany. For me...the most fun was the one in Germany during the holidays. My parents lived in Belgium for several years and did the Brocantes (sp?) over there. The things they picked up were amazing. Many are done out of the trunks of their cars..."boot sales". I'm tearing up just thinking about it...ahhhhh, memories!

I'll be coming through Prattville tomorrow...I'll wave!

Those pulls look GREAT with your cabinet paint!
We lived in Switzerland when I was a child...I remember going to the marche au peaux (sp?) with my Mom...many of my favorite pieces she still has are from there...actually, nearly everything in her house is from them! I also was in Paris for a semester abroad in college...Didn't have the money to send stuff home...but i SURE looked!!

Thanks for the eye candy!!

This is the 2nd kitchen with black cupboards that I have seen today in blogland. I love them! I also love your pulls...and they might be just what I could use once we paint the cabinets...because they have HUGE hardware on them now and so these might help cover up the holes from them...Just found your blog today from Susie Harris' blog :)

Please come see my kitchen on my blog, I want your opinion :)

Thanks!!!

i hope you see this, i just found your site....i am curious...are these cabinets painted or stained and then distressed? I love the look, and i'm about to refinish my kit cabinets....i dont really want to paint them, i'd rather stain, but can I still get that distressed look?

Hi Kimberly!

The cabinets are painted. I outlined the process here:

Good luck with yours!

I live in Spain and have gone to "El Rastro" many times - my favorite two areas of this huge flea market are the vintage/junk areas where I drool over iron hand & fruit door knockers, beveled mirrors, old Spanish books, seltzer water dispensers...it just goes on and on. I don't have the budget to buy everything I like, so I don't know which is worse - not being able to see a European flea market, or seeing and not being able to buy!
