I'm back!

Hello!

I had a wonderful time in Savannah, Charleston, Wilmington and Jacksonville.
I took so many photos, and an entire video tape full of footage.

One of the unexpected highlights of the trip was when we came upon a billboard that read "2008 HGTV Green Home - Next Exit". Poor Mom didn't know about my intense fascination with the 2008 Green Home, but she quickly became fully aware. I'm not sure if it was the hyperventilating that gave it away, or the rate of speed at which words were flying out of my mouth, but I think it was pretty clear that this was a very special moment for me. :-)

I took several other photos of the property, and will share them here tomorrow. Til then, it's off to beddy-by for this one. It's late, and I can barely keep my eyes open. Zzzzzzzzzzz......................

Hey, nice house! I've been meaning to say, I'm actually glad you didn't go on Design Star this year, because really, I think you're beyond it! Who needs all that cattiness? I think you should just work on having your own show, if you want to be on TV. You can do it! Wendy xx

Can't wait to see more! Hard to believe this home is only a year old? The shrubs are huge! Does anyone live there now? Looks like they need to do some yard work!

I'm sure I read on another blog that the winner of the house couldn't afford the property taxes that came with the house and so the show is buying it back so that the winner isn't saddled with a huge debt. Quite sad really.

I loved the 2008 Green House - it looked so charming on the video tours.

We will be going to Savannah/ Beaufort/Charleston at the end of October for the home tour season. I am looking forward to touring the Southern Living magazine house in Beaufort - they are giving away one of four houses - winner's choice. Tours run thru Oct.

Maybe we'll see the sign and get to stop by this house too!
