Dining Room Inspiration

My Mom is thinking about doing a painted picnic table in her Dining Room, so I thought I'd post an inspiration photo....such a cute idea isn't it? :-)

She is, in turn, is giving me the Dining table and chairs she currently has.
They have been in my family for 100 years. They were a wedding gift for my Great Grandparents. The table has like 12 leaves!! We are so excited about this new addition to the Lettered Cottage. It's a dark wood, so I think it'll work nicely with the white beadboard as a backdrop.
I'm painting the Dining Room and Kitchen right after Christmas, so there will be lots of updated photos to share then. I can hardly wait!

For those of you who have asked me what the name of the color I'm using is, I don't know the name, but I will post the mixture information here when I post the updated photos. :-)

Happy Holidays,
Layla

Your mom is so creative to use a picnic table in her dining room! The inspiration piece is a great example of how wonderful it will look.

Twelve leaves? Let me know when the dinner party is!

Wouldn't it be neat to interview your 100 year old family dining table? :)

I am flipping over the picnic table idea! If I didn't have a kitchen table that I love I would pick a picnic table! Just love it, especially with everything else in the room being more chic and modern!
Just discovered your blog and love it.
Happy holidays,
LuLu

I love that beach blue picnic table in the dining room! I'd love to do that here...in Queensland, Australia. It would be perfect! Especially now...it is summer, you know.

Happy New Year!
